Microsoft’s Windows 8 operating system is now complete and is set for a release date of October 26th 2012.
It will introduce a new user interface for desktop PC’s along with new features to help increase productivity and system performance levels.
Our technicians are currently working with the new operating system ahead of its official launch date to ensure full compatibility with all our systems and to work on optimising the installations to make best use of multi-screen systems.
PC’s purchased from us after the 26th October will ship with Windows 8 pre-installed and configured.
Before the 26th we would be supplying Windows 7 as standard.
Upgrading to Windows 8
For people looking for a new PC now that also want Windows 8 then there is a special Microsoft offer which will cater for you.
For any new PC purchased between 2nd June 2012 and the 31st January 2013 with Windows 7 pre-installed (any of our PC’s qualify), Microsoft will let you pay a £14.99 fee to upgrade to Windows 8 upon its release.
To take advantage of this offer simply visit: http://windowsupgradeoffer.com/en-GB and register with them once you have received your new computer.
The only information you will need is the Windows 7 license sticker and product key which will be supplied with your new computer.
You will then receive an email on the 26th October detailing how you pay the £14.99 and download your software.
System Spec’s
We have done some investigation into system specification requirements for Windows 8 and all our PC’s can comfortably run the new operating system.
Upgrading from Windows 7 to Windows 8 should be a simple process, we will shed more light on this when the upgrade software is released and if necessary we will put together a guide exclusively for our customers who want to take part in the upgrade process.
Hopefully with the upgrade offer from Microsoft and our help you should be up and running with Windows 8 in no time.
